As Hamilton City is evolving, The Cook Restaurant & Bar in Hamilton East is adapting with this evolution to try and keep current with this period of change.
There is going to be an intensification of high-end apartment living in Hamilton East and as well as that, the new MADE market will certainly add to the urban dynamic of Hamilton East.
There is already increased pedestrian and cycle traffic in the area so The Cook Restaurant & Bar has converted the service area on the eastern side of its premises to a monitored secure area where bikes and scooters can be locked up. There is a monitored screen inside The Cook where you can keep an eye on your valuable mode of transport and dine with a peaceful mind.
Hamilton City Council are looking at developing new cycle pathways through the city and The Cook want to make sure we have the correct facilities for people who will be utilising these new routes available.
’We have noticed an increase in the amount of people who were tying up valuable E-bikes to street signs and down pipes, so decided that there was definitely a demand for this, says owner and operator Chris Rollitt. Plus, it ticks all the boxes of sustainable practices, less pressure on parking, not driving a vehicle after having a beer or two (you should not be on your bike either), and the general lifestyle message of being fit and active.
’At The Cook it is important that we support our community as they have supported us. We aim create a space where the public want to come and spend time, to relax, to meet and to connect,’ says Rollitt.
